Custody and Child Support

If you have children, Jaymie can assist you in your pursuit to obtain fair and appropriate custody (physical and legal) and/or support of your children. Custody terms can be mutually agreed upon or determined by the courts and while Nevada’s public policy ensures both parents remain an active part of their children’s lives, custody determinations will be made in the best interests of the child. Our firm can also provide representation for you in cases involving the District Attorney’s office.

Asset Division

Asset division is extremely important in divorce and separation cases, but the concept of equitable distribution is a difficult one to decipher. Assets may include money, property, businesses, taxes, vehicles, RVs, boats, patents/trademarks, timeshares, insurance policies, home goods and furnishings, and valuable collections, antiques, or artwork. Our Reno family attorney may also conduct a legal process called discovery to find hidden assets and bring them forward. High asset divorces are often complex and highly involved. Jaymie excels at handling high asset divorce cases thanks to her extensive experience with the valuation, protection, and distribution of significant assets.

Temporary Protective Orders (TPOs)

Grandparent and Step-Parent Visitation

Unfortunately, sometimes disputes occur between parents of children and biological grandparents or former step-parents. Whether you are a parent or a person seeking visitation, Jaymie can help assist you in making the best decision regarding settlement or litigation with these matters.

Paternity Action

Paternity action cases involve a court-ordered legal proceeding that determines the parentage, or origins, of a child. During these cases, a court will order a paternity test to be done to identify whether a person is or is not a biological parent to the child in question. In most cases, paternity is established without legal action but may be necessary to proceed with other civil or legal issues.
